BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

With this study the consequence of appraisals within just Ghacem will probably be investigated. The most important factor that is looked into although analyzing the affects of appraisals will probably be if there is a considerable effects in terms of adding value to the overall success of the corporation with regards to the personnel within Ghacem.

The key uses of evaluation system at workplace are to weigh up decision and develop decision. And it is also musical instrument to give assurance and lauded strong performer to continue their outstanding overall performance and inspire poor artist to do better job by workplace. General it is an chance for employees to improve their operating lives. It offers chance to employees in order to meet high level supervision in corporation to discuss their particular experiences and offers better probability of self analysis in which region they need to cover by training and expansion. Performance evaluation is also a technique for companies to protect themselves against favoritism claims and distribute awards fairly.

SHORT HISTORY OF GHACEM

Ghacem was founded by the Federal government of Bekwai, ghana in cooperation with Norcem AS of Norway about August 31, 1967. In 1993, the Ghana Authorities sold 35 % of its shares to Scancem (formerly Norcem). Scancem because of this had fifty nine. 5 %, leaving it with 40 % and zero. 5 % going to a local investor. In 1997, the Ghana Authorities sold your five % of its 45 % shareholding to the employees of the business.

The 35 % shares in the Ghana Govt was purcahased by Scancem in 1999 and at present Scancem provides 93. you % shares in the business, Ghana Federal government have five % stocks and shares and 1 . 9 % is owned by Dr . J. A. Addison, a local investor. It happened in 1999,  HeidelbergCement overtook Scancem, thus making it an auxilliary brand. Ghacem factories in Paura and Takoradi, have created over 35 million tonnes of bare cement since creation in 1967.
