Accomplishment vs . Brilliance

Success or perhaps excellence, which is more important? So many people wish to be successful, however struggle to attain excellence. Superiority is far more important and beneficial than accomplishment. It is more fulfilling and rewarding. In fact , when accomplishment and brilliance are in comparison, one can see that, in our world, excellence is important. Success is driven by simply pride and arrogance while excellence is steered by simply self-effacement. An effective person grabs the eye of the crowd and receives special treatment. People who wish to achieve excellence need to first make a sacrifice. To pursue excellence is a lot like embarking on a lengthy journey that leads to many obstructions and detours. Those who want to conqueror the journey need to dedicate all their time, work, and assets. Dictionary. com defines quality as the " condition or quality of excelling or getting exceptionally good; extreme value; superiority. ” According to Johnston (1996), " success is like a pot of gold towards the end of the rainbow. We imagine it because children, we all strive for that through each of our adult lives, and we undergo melancholy in an old age whenever we have not managed to get. ” On the contrary, " quality brings us to reality, and a profound gratitude to get the re-inifocing promise from the rainbow” (pg 33). Excellence is going the extra mile and performing it with love. The Word of God reports, " Operate willingly for whatever you are doing, as though you were employed by the Lord rather than for people. Keep in mind that the Lord will provide you with an inheritance as your praise, and that the Master you will be serving can be Christ” (Colossians 3: 23-24, NLT). Our god wants us to stand out and He has already outfitted us with all the tools and resources to achieve it. Though a person can become successful through mediocrity, excellence can simply be obtained by people who devote 100% of their time and ability.
