Inside the text Mythology by Edith Hamilton, females are described as being house and things. During this time girls were seen to get not as " good" as men. That they saw perfection in relationships between men and small male adults as the best relationships to obtain. However , homosexuality was frowned upon. Men had been considered experienced and educated, but women were seen being a burden added to man by Gods. When it came to women nothing at all was valuable about them however beauty. When a woman was beautiful she was desired by many guys: a man will do just about anything to have the possession of a beautiful female and have her as his property. It had been as if a woman's role was to only be a male's beautiful control and to propagate the family tree of a guy or if perhaps he had a daughter, the means to protect power through marriage. Atalanta a character through the text Mythology, was a fabulous maiden who had been the little girl of the ruler. When her father found that he previously been given a girl instead of a son he was extremely bitter and disappointed, the lady was then simply left on a mountain part. From this, one can assume that males did not experience girls were worthy of becoming raised and taken care of in place of having males. Instead of perishing, she was taken care of by a she-bear, and she grew up to be a very quick, daring young lady. Atalanta vowed to stay a virgin and would never marry. She had not been interested in men except for because companions in hunting. However , many men found her to become beautiful then became enthusiastic about marrying her. Because of this interest Atalanta in that case came up with a plan. Thus, Atalanta decided she'd have all the suitors race her, and whoever received the competition would be her husband. If the suitors in the race were lapped by Atalanta or they dropped, then they will be killed. Possibly on this kind of hard circumstances many men required the chance of risking all their lives only to marry her and have her as their partner.
